Whitfield

Charles Albert Whitfield. Married Jane/June Ainslie/Ansley/Anslie. According to family stories, he came from Durham, England in 1848 and settled in Chicago. Unfortunately, he did so before the Great Chicago Fire and his records of immigration and marriage are lost. Moved to Braidwood, Illinois in about 1861. She was probably from Ireland.

1. Lewis Edward "Lew" Whitfield. Born 1857 in Chicago, Cook County, Illnois. Married Mary Francis "Fannie" Becker in 1882 in Braidwood, Illinois. He was a scientific engineer in 1900 and did electric work in the coal mines. They moved to Washington Territory in 1888 in lived in Black Diamond, Washington for several years. Then they lived at Lake Bay, Washington for many years. He died in 1934 in Therman Place, Washington was buried 10 October 1934 in Vaughn Cemetery, Vaughn, Washington. She was born 1863 in Washington county, Iowa. She died April 1932 in Vaughn, Washington and is buried in Vaughn Cemetery, Vaughn, Washington. See bottom of this page for her mother's line.
1. Jay Ainslie/Anesly Whitfield. Born 16 August 1883. Married Clara H. and then Lela. He was a judge. He died 12 April 1970 in Ellensburg, Washington. Lela died circa 1958/1960. They adopted Margaret.
2. Charles Martin Whitfield. Born 4 December 1886 in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois. Married Elsie Caroline Howe 24 June 1908 at Tolt/Carnation, Washington. He married Gertrude Howe Ranf on 25 October 1915. He died 12 April 1963 in Tacoma, Pierce County, Washington. Elsie died 19 April 1914 in Fall City, King County, Washington and is buried in Fall City Cemetery. (Elsie's children were Irene, Lewis & John. Gertrude's children were Warde, (living), Glenn & (living); as well as Kenneth from her previous marriage.)(Howe Lineage)
1. Irene Margery Whitfield. Born 27 June 1909 in Fall City, King County, Washington & delivered by Dr. W.W. Cheney. Married Jack Chisholm on 26 May 1931 at his parent's home in Fall City, King County, Washington. She died 4 March 1991 at Snoqualmie Valley Hospital, Snoqualmie, King County, Washington and is buried Fall City Cemetery, King County, Washington. He died 28 February 1988 at Overlake Hospital, Bellevue, King County, Washington and is buried in Fall City Cemetery. (Chisholm lineage)
2. Lewis Whitfield. Born 30 August 1910 in Fall City, Washington. Died 27 January 1923 at Orthopedic Hospital from TB of the spine and was buried in Fall City Cemetery. He was very interested in nature and like to observe it and its workings.
3. John Whitfield. Born 15 October 1911 in Fall City, King County, Washington. Married Ruth Howard Hall on Friday, 18 September 1942 at First Methodist Church in Reno, Nevada. He died February or March 2001. She died February or January 2000.
