George Alfred Hansen, born Gorgen Alfred Valdimar Hansen in Nyborg Denmark on 26 February 1871. He was a member of the North West Mounted Police, the NWMP, (later known as Royal Canadian Mounted Police, or Mounties) stationed in the Yukon during the Gold Rush. In one picture I've seen (but unfortunately don't have a copy of to share) he's holding the British flag as it was raised to mark the boundary between Canada and the United States at the top of Chilcoot Pass.

Adelia "Dill" Royle was born 24 October 1873. (Illinois?) She was one of six children of Jeremiah Royle & Margaret Lewis. Her siblings: Margaret "Maggie" Royle, Joanna "Jo" Royle, Otis Royle, Eva "Eve" Royle, and Lulan "Lillie" or "Lil" Royle. Her half-siblings from her mother's previous marriage: Grant Young and Allie Young.

Moved with family to Dakotas.

Ran away from home to see the Chicago World's Fair. The best I can tell is that she stayed with friends and worked as a housekeeper and child care person to pay her way and stay safe on her trip. Her "Travels" has a list of known places and times where she was.

Her autograph book has autographs from her sisters and father, her friends and people she met on her travels.

Then to Seattle to stay with her half-sister Allie Young Cody Smith (married twice). While waiting for her husband-to-be to come back from the Yukon, Dill wrote a lengthy letter as a diary to her sisters Eve and Lil, who were living in Saskatchewan by then, telling both of them about Seattle.
