Chisholm Celebrate Golden Wedding Anniversary
The Jack Chisholms of Spring Glen celebrated their gold wedding anniversary with a turkey dinner for 14 guests on Sunday, May 24.
Irene Whitfield and Jack Chisholm were married at Hillacres on May 26, 1931. They grew up in the same neighborhood, as both families were early settlers in the area. Jack's father, John J. Chisholm, purchased land near Lake Marie in 1907. The homestead was named Hillacres. Irene was born and raised in a house near the present site of the Spring Glen Trailer Court. Her grandfather, John E. Howe, bught the place and approximately 80 acres of land in 1910. She went to live with her grandparents following the death of her mother. Her father's side of the family, the Whitfields, were early pioneers in the Puget Sound area.
Guests who were present to celebrate the occasion included Jack's sisters, Alice Chisholm-Saunders and Jean Garten and thier families, and five people who were members of the original wedding party. Also attending was Gen MacManiman who is the present owner of Hillacres.
NOTES:
I think this was in the Snoqualmie Valley Record.
