Eve Royle & Alex Chisholm's Wedding |
|
Bold is handwritten parts, plain is the original form
Notice the different dates. The December 1899 date is correct given the letter written by Lulan Royle telling about the wedding and the letter written January 1900 by Eve Royle Chisholm telling about her married life. The Certificate with the August 1900 date looks like that was when they officially registered the wedding with the Powers That Be.

NOTES: "Annie Gordon" was actually Annie Gordon Matheson before being married to John Chisholm.
Lulan Royle, and Eve Royle are daughters to Jeremiah Royle & Margaret Lewis.
The cleryman is Gilbert Cook, who is the father to Sybil Cook. Sybil later married Otis Royle, who was a son of Jeremiah & Margaret Royle and brother to Eve & Lulan.
Assiniboia is now parts of Saskatchewan and Alberta.
Fort Qu'Appelle and Wishart are in Saskatchewan.
Wishart is currently a tiny village, and probably wasn't much larger back then.
